About The Flower Patch

Angela, the heart and soul behind The Flower Patch, is a local enthusiast with a deep passion for flowers. Though the business is a recent venture, Angela's love for flowers has been long-standing, inspired by their vibrant colours, unique shapes, and delightful fragrances.

With a creative background that spans cake decorating, knitting, sewing, and crocheting, Angela found her true calling in floristry. She started by attending night classes, followed by studying Level 2 Floristry, and is currently working toward Level 3 certification in Sunderland.

Throughout her floristry journey, Angela has created a wide range of arrangements, including hand-tied bouquets, hatboxes, wedding designs, and funeral tributes. Being entrusted to contribute to someone's special occasion is both an honour and a privilege for her. Angela has honed her skills through personal projects, customer commissions, and voluntary placements around the region. 

One of Angela's proudest achievements was competing in the World Skills 2023 Floristry competition. After progressing through multiple stages, she attended the final and received high commendation for her work. Her dedication to the craft has also led her to take part in prestigious events like the Harrogate Flower Show and contribute to bids for the Chelsea Flower Show within her college. 

Angela’s journey is marked by a passion for floristry and a commitment to creating beautiful, meaningful pieces for all occasions.
